Sunday:
I woke up super-determined as I have been since returning from Glastonbury.  I did a good weights session yesterday but was determind to get back in and do some cardio today.  I warmed up with ten minutes on the cross-trainer (at a decent intensity level) which the machine said burnt around 125 cals.

I then moved on to the rowing machine and set it to 10km in distance.  I started perhaps a little too slowly and I noticeably fatigued from the last two days but I stuck it out and finished.  The time was 45:47 (I think) and that’s with a poor first half.  I know I can get it down to under 45 minutes and then look to further goals from there.  I warmed down with a spell in the steam room and felt good.

Monday:
I woke up the intention of going to the gym and actually made it down there, such is my mindset at the moment.  My thighs are really aching from Saturday’s squats though and I doubted that I would be able to run very far and similarly I didn’t want to do too much in the way of resistance cardio after the last three days.

So I jumped straight in the pool with the intention of swimming around 1,500 metres – 60 lengths.  I managed twelve lengths (very tiredly) and then another person jumped in the fast lane and seemed pretty good.  I’d only have been slowing them down if I’d stayed in and I was tired.  The last three days have taken it out of me and I decided to make today a rest day – which is why I am including it in Sunday’s entry as oposed to a Monday one.

I’ll hit the gym tomorrow morning before college and hopefully after too.  Today made me realise that I;m not as fit as i think I am though.  When I can swim long0ish distances comfortably without too much need for stopping at each end then I’ll feel as if I’m making real progress.  I’m going to try and get in the pool at least once a week though from now on to try and improve this part of my regime.
